Eli Lilly (NYSE) announced plans to invest $4.5 billion in a new advanced manufacturing and drug development center in Lebanon, Indiana, set to open in late 2027. The “Lilly Medicine Foundry” aims to enhance the production of medicines, increasing output by 400% and speeding up drug delivery for clinical trials. The facility will create 400 full-time jobs, adding to Lilly’s previous $5.3 billion investment in diabetes and obesity medicine production in Lebanon. This raises Lilly’s total U.S. investment since 2020 to over $23 billion.
