Nexperia, a Dutch chipmaker, affirmed it will comply with U.S. restrictions imposed on its Chinese parent company, Wingtech, after Wingtech was added to the U.S. Department of Commerce’s “entity list.” While Wingtech faces licensing requirements for U.S. technology, these restrictions do not directly apply to Nexperia or its subsidiaries. Nexperia, known for producing simple chips like diodes and transistors, recently expanded operations in Germany. The U.S. cited national security concerns over Wingtech’s acquisition of chip technologies critical to defense industries as the reason for the restrictions.
